LEARNING AT ST MARY’S

At St Mary’s we recognize that we are all learners. Learning is about building on experiences and developing a deeper knowledge and understanding about the world in which we live. We believe learning happens best in collaborative, innovative learning environments that inspire and foster positive relationships and a love of learning.

Our students are challenged to question, inquire and imagine. We create a collaborative, culture-changing learning environment where students are encouraged to take charge of their own learning and try new things.

Learning goes beyond academics, learning is about the way in which we interact with one another and the way we “take a risk” and challenge ourselves. Learning is about being part of a Catholic community and treating our school resources and everyone who enters our school with respect and compassion.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Gumbaynggirr people, the traditional custodians of the lands on which our School resides. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions and culture of the Gumbaynggirr peoples.
