Reminder about Pedestrian Safety on Park Street - this was sent via Compass last week
Parents and children are crossing the street at undesignated locations, rather than using the designated crossing.
Your children's safety is our top priority, and we understand that sometimes, especially when in a hurry, it can be tempting to take a shortcut. However, crossing the road outside of designated areas significantly increases the risk of accidents.
We request that all families, including adults and children, adhere to the following:
- Always use the designated crossing on Park Street. This ensures that drivers are aware of pedestrian traffic and that everyone can cross safely.
- Teach your children about road safety. Emphasise the importance of using designated crossings and looking both ways before crossing any street.
- Set a good example. Children learn by observing adults, so please demonstrate safe road crossing habits.
We understand that everyone is busy, but taking a few extra moments to use the designated crossing can make a significant difference in preventing accidents.
Let's work together to create a safe environment for everyone in our community. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
